Writing to me is ok but it is kind of hard because you would have to think really hard of what you're gonna talk about. When I first started to write essays, I did HORRIBLE! My grammar & spelling were really bad. It was so bad that you weren't able to understand the first sentence. As the years past by, my writing has improved but at some spots, I would need help.

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you have been improving in your writing. We’ll try to continue that progress this year The first idea you mention, coming up with ideas, is probably the hardest. Can you see why “ideas” is the first trait we work on in the 6 trait process? We’ll also work on stuff like grammar and vocabulary and hope that you’ll feel more confident of your writing at the end of the year.
Here are my comments on your writing pre-assessment: The incident you’ve chosen to describe, your brother breaking your trophy, seems to be a good choice because you feel strongly about that experience. What you need to do is describe it like it’s really happening…for example, start with your finding the trophy in pieces, instead. That is where the story “starts itself.” From there, use dialogue and lots of specific details to show rather than tell about your actions and emotions on this “sad and disappointing day.”
For your idea bank: could have made more of an attempt to complete it…if you spend time on activities such as the idea bank, then coming up with ideas for your essays might not be so hard all the time.
